csmithplans.com Douglas DC-4

Hi there all,

I'm a UK modeller new to the forum. I've been made aware of a Canadian modeller called C Smith and he retailed a large scale DC-4. I can find no information about him and this model on the www and wondered if anyone here had any more information and possibly a copy of the plan ?

Hope your all well and I look forward to contributing more on the forum :-)

hi there,

I've posted on a couple of Canadian based forums and contacted a couple of organisations/groups on social media. Yup I'm pretty determined on this one lol.

The design was a biggie. It was available in both 180 inch span and also 117.5 inches.

The seller was based in Toronto and I do have a snail mail address so perhaps that's the next route forwards if I have no joy.

Thanks for your continued interest and questions though :-)

Forgot to add the following about thier range.........

They sold a small range of CAD prepared plans which included the DC-4, T-33, F-35, Constellation, CF-100 and the rarer ones which may help peoples memories are a Avro C-102 Jet Liner and XP-67 Moonbat. I can't imagine many others having those in their ranges so perhaps that narrows it further ?

The plans were marketed by a Christine Smith. But the copyright of the plans was a Michael Emilio.

Atlantique... Unfortunately you are on a wild goose chase.. the business has closed:

'Found this one when I googled but I was remembering the C smith plans but couldn't remember the name. Unfortunately, that business has closed. Outerzone would require a lot of scaling up, csmith would have been perfect" found on RCCanada's forum on 2017....

You might try your luck on AeroFred and see if it's loaded there....

I think it would be a worthy project N233W :-)

Your right Swampflier the business is no longer open. But...……….only a few years ago. So perhaps worth an ask, maybe someone knows how to make contact with them and they will print a copy. Or perhaps someone has a copy stashed away which they no longer required. Time will tell if this is a wild goose chase or will prove otherwise :-)

A model builder named "baco" who used csmith DC-4 plans and "Props4ever" who had Mike design the plans here: https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-...ial-model.html

Might be able to contact them or rcuniverse may have contact info. Worth a try.
