Ground clearance is no issue at all with a 24" prop.

Re: Extreme Flight Extra 300 88,5" - ELECTRIC!!

There hasn't been any activity in this thread in a while -- how is everyone doing with these electric EF Extras? I'm waiting for them to get back in stock so I can put one together over the winter to fly in sportsman next year. I'm a little concerned about flight times -- need 8 1/2 mins aerobatics plus another couple minutes of buffer for low power circuits if necessary. Thinking of going 12S/6500mAh (Hyperion G3).

On motors.

The Neu 1527/1.5Y/6.7HD on 12S tests with thrust and speed in excess of a DA 50 - the mass and cost end up similar. A rocket in an aerobat.

What was the weight with the Neu motor?

This plane to have an acceptable wing loading must end bellow 7,5 kg or 16 lbs, at this weight the cubic wing loading is around 8 oz/cu', which is not spectacular for 3D...

It is not possible to get this weight with an electric setup, I changed mine completely taking as much as I can and only could get around 8 kg (CF landing gear, CF wheel pants, Kavan Wheels, CF spinner, Power box ultimate, 800 mAh servo lipos (2x), taking some structure wood as well, etc..).

This plane will never be a 3D monster, although could be a fairly good IMAC performer.
