Re: OMG!!!!! MrKiwi got a giant scale plane!!!! (world's slowest build thread)

Ok, anyway, I'll be asking A LOT of questions during the build! Ok, so what is a good basic 3D/imac setup? I already have the servos planned out, 5985 on rudder, and 985's all around.
Should I use a Smart-Fly equalizer for matching the alirons? Or some other method. I have a Tanic 4200ma battery that was included (thanks Zak!). What regulater do I need?

Thanks!

Re: OMG!!!!! MrKiwi got a giant scale plane!!!! (world's slowest build thread)

First and for most, the reason it is called the slowest build thread is because it will be a while till I can save up enough money to buy all the parts. Right now I need to buy smart fly equalizers for the rudder, elivator, and alirons. 4 of them which equals lots of $$$$. Then there is the misc extension etc... Then I need to but 3 more Hs-985. $70 each. Yikes! All donations appreciated. hehehehe

You are using two RX's right? A simple and very durable setup is the Wolverine switches and Fromeco Regs and if you know anyone with a hitec programmer they can get all your servos matched on each surface. Less weight and clean setup.

Lomchevac, I am still debating on weather to go Spektrum or FM. If I was to go with Spektrum, I would go with the Ar 9000 receiver. From the pics, it looks like you can have 2 remote receivers. How do I have split receivers? I am only running digitals on the rudder, so I will have to run equalizer on every thing else. I was also going to use a smart-fly power expander, so would I have to have 2 recievers? I already have 1 Smart-Fly switch, and plan to run another one.

My greenlight is always off, the only way to avoid a flood of pager messages.

The duel RX is for extra security and really is recommended on 30% and up. I beleive you will have to have 2 power expanders for duel RX's. You simply just hook one side of the control surfaces to one rx and the other side to the other, alot of people run a choke also and hook throttle to one rx and choke to other so you can kill engine either way, and you need a battery pack for each side and a duel switch (Wolverine is nice)
