One question....for those running a cannister, is the rudder servo still in the tail or do you have to do a pull-pull?

Thanks!
Nice to see you at Perry Papatrey, thanks for the business! You can run the rudder servo in the tail as most of the canister and header assembly is forward of the CG.

Perfect. Great to see you and the entire crew at Perry.

Thank you for providing us with so many wonderful planes to choose from. Those painted props and spinners are absolutely amazing.

Canister question again: Seems some like the y header with MTW 110 and some don't. What I want to know is this: Is anyone happy with the canister setup (y header and MTW 110) for 3D/XA flying? Or do you really need regular mufflers for 3D?

The 2-1 header is fine, just use the rear dump MTW110. Makes a difference.

So I don’t have to search through 68 pages of this thread, I’m looking for a picture of a Futaba set up. Where you located your receiver and what kind of switch you used. Thank you!

I absolutely love mine with the 2into1 canister. I first flew it with this setup then swapped out to mufflers so I could use the canister setup in my big Bushmaster. I like it with mufflers too but I honestly prefer the way it flew with the extra weight of the canister setup. I’m in the process of ordering another canister setup for mine. I wouldn’t compare the two setups to raw power and thrust because they’re basically the same either way, but rather the weight of the plane, how it penetrates in the wind, etc...

Lee and all with the 2 into 1 canister,
Do you have any issues with an oil leak at the forward end of the coupler? I do and am looking for a solution. I made sure the outlet of header was round (it wasn't), and I placed the spring clamp close to the bead on header...still leaks black oil and makes a mess.

I don’t have any leak so far. Did you warm the Teflon before clamping it?

i have created some air extraction plates to replace the old vent plates. I did this for 2 purposes, create negative pressure so it sucks out the air better. And the other reason is to keep the oil drops out of the exhaust tunnel so it stays nice and clean.
As a bonus it looks way cooler too,
against minimum weight gain.
Weight difference is approx 5 grams.

This is now created for my laser 91 inch but I could make it for any kind of plane obviously.
Doesn’t it look super sexy?

Kind regards,
Dennis
