yes sir, I have several airplanes that are strictly using this servo and up to 8.4 volts, and no problems. Also very quiet servo.

Here's a link to the Futaba Servo chart....lots of great 'official' information:

Here's a couple for Hitec Servos: first one is the older series, second is a link that gets you the links to the D series information

Thanks guys, good to know about them being 8.4V safe. Might put a set in my 42% bird rather than the 777’s I purchased and set aside for it.

Basically all the S.Bus servos are fine on unregulated 2S lipos. Keep in mind that Futaba notes nominal voltages, so a 7.4 volt servos is in fact a 2S lipo servo since 7.4 volts is the nominal voltage of a 2S lipo pack. Full charge is 8.4 volts.

I have the A700's on the elevators of a new Rebel Max jet. On a freshly charged 2S Lipo, they freak out. Lead length makes no difference. I plugged the servo in directly to my receiver and they did the same thing. However, on a life pack, no issues.

Very odd.. I'm running several A700 w/ Futaba TX/RX on 2s Lipo on elevators and rudder on 40% Cardens with zero issues. Some directly off the RX and some off of Smart Fly PE (with no voltage regulation in either case). They're the best servo I've ever used to this point; loved everything about them except the price...!

Not sure why you're experiencing this 'freak out' issue......here's a A700 thread that contains a lot of information and nowhere are issues like yours mentioned when using 2S Lipos

I have spoke to others about it, some say they are and some not. Suggestions to check with as short a lead and as few connections as possible but didn't matter. When I first set it all up, my lipo's were not fully charged and I had no issues, once I charged them is when it all began. I did test using a life pack and the servos worked without problems. I have the 9177's in another jet on 2S lipos and have no problems. I'm just going to change the 700's out to the 9177's and fly the jet

I have three planes with A700 servos for a total of 17 servos. All the planes have 2S 3800 Mah 15c Lipo batteries, never experienced any problems with them.
