I buy DA engines because it is the only engine my wife will let me buy !!!!

BTW.... I owned a DLE 55, and it was a great engine, BUT at an event a couple of weeks back, I saw a side by side comparison of the 55 and my 60 on the same airframe. The power difference was very obvious by all those watching, with the 55 being great and the 60 being over the top. I myself am a very satisfied DA customer.

Probably the same reason I get DLE hate when I mention the 55. People just like what they have.

Yes, I am blessed to have a wife who supports me and likes to go the flying field and Imac contest with me.
I worked for a aerial applicator who uses OH-58's as spray helicopters.

I see your point. I guess what confuses me most is the need for opinions to be given, in an effort to minimize another mans choice.

Maybe people need to consider if they do not actually own and have experience with BOTH they have no means to honestly bash or complain bout the other.

I've got both and they are all great. Only engines I've ever had trouble with were brands other than DA / DLE and I won't ever go back to those again. Am I the only one that think the price gripe is stupid?? Just buy what you like and can afford and we'll all have fun together.

I think the 200 dollars of services comes in if something happens after the warrenty is up. If something happens to your da you send it in and they fix it usually at no charge maybe just shipping. if that happens to most other engines that is not the case.....

Why everybody should buy the same thing? Its like whoever buys anything other than Mercedes-Benz is stupid. I'd like to have lower investment on the plane so my thumbs won't shake when bringing plane low for 3D. Its just personal preferences. I'd also love a lightweight twin 70 and wish DA success with that.

Mercedes-Benz type of people creep me out. i keep a good distance.

No one is forcing anyone to buy a certain engine. If you cannot afford to buy a new DA, then buy used. If you do not want to buy DA then get DLE. If you want a DA and don't mind the price,,,,,,,, then by DA. We are all free to buy what we want.

I have had both engines they are both very reliable. I personally like to buy DA now because i love the way they support the hobby and many events. They do make a great engine to. But it is my choice in what to buy. No one can make me buy anything i dont want to.
