Question for John Wondra. What did your F3A weigh in at and where was it balanced? Mine is at 6.5 ounces but looks like it flies alot heavier than yours.

Re: FLITON CHALLENGE RESULTS

Everyone's vids are very impressive. A lot of flying talent in this contest for sure! Big Congrats to John Wondra- Get practicin(in a small venue) for the ETOC and represent the Giants well!

In all honesty, when the results came out, I was a bit dissappointed....... last place is... well, last place.... LOL However, seeing the vids, I'm excited again. I also feel pretty good about my vid as well, as I think I flew with the lowest cieling of the bunch (Donatas' was pretty low too), and so I'm still pretty proud about how my pattern turned out. I'm also proud of how my design flew. It is very capable, and managed to fly the routine in a site with 1/5th the ceiling height of many of the others.

Here is another take I did of the Unlimited routine. Other than the wheel touch at the bottom of the 6th (or so) maneuver, its the cleanest, crispest run I got on film..... Maybe I should have submitted it instead.....

Man now I realize that I need to learn how to read an aresti and not count on just watching videos. It is that lazy side of me!! Well good job to all!!

Don't worry mate, this was tuff contest, in any case it is better to be last in Unlimited, than first in novice when you have good flying skills! No offence Charlie, i think your flight was real good to!

I also was not very happy with 6th place, but i can't blame no one except for me Brandon we both need to learn read aresti before practicing LOL I found that not only down line 1,25 snap was done wrong, but also i did 90 instead of 45 degree down roll...
Litle more time and bigger gym would help us uch more!

To improve such contest in future it would be nice to see each judge points for each maneuver, and more information on what judging will be based on, that would make contest even better. Thats just my opinion, in any case thanks for all work you did!

Yes, would be interesting to see specs on everyone's planes, and the scores by maneuver.

Mine -
Ikarus Extrema
Eflite 300
Castle Phx 10
TP 3s1p480
APC 8x3.8
Spektrum DX7 / 6100
JR SM8 servos
~6.4 oz
"Canalizer" on fuse top and small SFGs on wings.

After watching everyone's vids, I don't feel so bad about having a large venue to fly in. I'd love to have a HEATED place to fly!!! <G> - it was about 38F for my vid.

Thanks to all the event sponsors and organizers!

Regards,

Dave Lockhart
