IMAC Downunder - 2009 Waharoa Rumble

IMAC is truly an international sport.
And to prove this the boys from New Zealand's North Island (a place were wise men fear to tread, and sheep run scared) are throwing it down at the 2009 Waharoa Rumble. Over the course of this weekend some of the best and brightest pilots from the south pacific will battle it out in fierce competition!

Tucson Aerobatic Shootout Champ Frazer (Bogan) Briggs and IMAC Kiwi organize this event and do their best to make sure everyone has a great time.

Frazier said:
Quote:
(For all you American's, contrary to what you have been lead to beleive, no, New Zealand is not in Scandinavia, or Europe, in fact it couldn't be further away. Its down the other side of the Pacific Ocean, about a 3 hour flight East of Australia. Yep that big place with all the bouncing Kangaroo's and tremblin' sheep). Sorry, got distracted on the Geography lesson.
HAHAHA.

This year the Rumble will offer the chance for pilots to take home prizes that total over $10,000 NZ. Frazer wanted to say thanks to the local suppliers both there in NZ who sponsored the event, and of course all of the International sponsors.

Its going to be three days of toe to toe standoffs with some of the best in business, Frazer, Chris Brislin who managed to get a leave pass from Dad for the weekend, Auntie, Talbs, Onecan, Chrispy Chips, Kylie, ampeater and the rest of the motley crew.

Yup - that Suk is a testament to true kiwi ingenuity and get'er done attitude. Looks like an awesome event!
Man and we think its expensive to participate in IMAC here... the NZ $ and distance to ship anything makes it a real challenge!

Have fun boys!

Struth....

Its a decent looking day for Kiwi land, suppose there will be lots of jandals and chilly bins at the field for the after hours debating. A cold DB or a Lion Brown for the old blokes. Dont suppose they even sell fruit to put in that imported beer that Bogan drinks.

How come I don't see a photo of One Cans nipple pink 260???

Update for day 2.

After a wee bit of rain in the morning, the day turned out stunning. Running dual flight lines apart from Advanced and Unlimited. This has proven to be a great contest for the top level Southern hemisphere pilots to compete head to head for the rest of us to learn and enjoy.
I have to say , it is a real pleasure to host Chrisby Chips, Talbs and Suzy, Richo and Mrs Richo at our home for this event. More details to follow.

Hey Chrisby needs to invite those pants down to this ankles for a party, then he will have finally made it into long pants!!!

Looks like some serious constipation going on over that unknown sequence.

Mike and Frazier...looks like a hell of a bash in the land down under. Thanks for the invite, but we
were unable to make it due to the current economic situation here in USA. Pretty soon the NZ dollar
will have surpassed the US in value. Keep yer arse to the sun, and fly well.
Regards, Tom and Eric Powell

Re: IMAC Downunder - 2009 Waharoa Rumble

About to head off to the field for the final day of the contest.

Also a big thanks to Scott at SWB for donating prizes.

The battle in Unlimited is getting very exciting with Frazer and Chrisby and could go either way. We are fortunate to have the likes of John Heigl and Steve Richardson to make a truly International judging panel. Another note worth mentioning is the raffle plane from the 2007 Tucson Shootout is being flown by the owner, Shaun Mitchell along with Steve Richardson and John Heigl maintaining a true international flavour for this bird.

I will post the final results and more pics as soon as I get home along with some on the spot photos of our International BBQ night at my place tonight.

Cheers
Alan

Kylie.

I dont know if your geographically challenged or not but its a 13 hour plane ride from here. It aint like jumping the ditch for a two hour peanut and Coca Cola ride between Brisbane and Orkland mate.

We have our big event here in four weeks time mate but I am sure as we get this IMAC thingy rocking and rolling we are going to see a lot more international attendance from us to you guys in the future.

If you hang a few jars of vegemite and some DB in that prize list it would make it even more tempting.
