Re: Pilot RC 50cc 122" Decathlon

In addition, the airplane is NOT a 40%er. It is a little less than 1/3rd scale. What difference does that make? None. The airplane looks good so if you want it....get it. The price is steep. If a year from now there are no more on the shelves and we see them all over the field.......then we're a bunch of morons and the price was right. If they're still on the shelf and all of a sudden we see some "Sales" pop up.......well maybe it was a little high. CB |

Re: Pilot RC 50cc 122" Decathlon
well for our sake and Tony's lets hope all his employees come back after the chinese new year. i just read that there is a big fear with the chinese manufacturers that their workers are always looking for better jobs and wont come back. That being said I really love the looks of this plane just wish i could afford it. I wonder if Tony has a ballpark figure in his head for what the 30 cc version is going to cost?

Re: Pilot RC 50cc 122" Decathlon
As someone already said, it's a forum, we come here to discuss these things.... I would think that the manufacturer would be interested in knowing that a significant number of people who are very interested in owning one have been shocked by the price. I accept Tonys statement that this plane is more difficult to manufacture than the Yaks and Extras, but when the 40%'er sells for $100 - $200 LESS than the 40% Extra, Sbach and Yak on Pilots web site (despite having over 20 inches more wing), I don't think it is unreasonable that people expected the price to be closer to Pilots other 50cc planes, as opposed to significantly more than their 35% options. If the airframe was priced somewhere between the 30% and 35% options Pilot sells, it would make sense.....
Anyway, I agree, if you don't like it or the price, don't buy it. I wish Pilot the best with it. Jason |

Re: Pilot RC 50cc 122" Decathlon
It looks like they are on the Chielf web site but it lists the light kit for $100. If you pre-order one do you get the light kit free or do you have to order direct from the factory to get that deal?

Re: Pilot RC 50cc 122" Decathlon
So tell me in a PM if you disagree with one of my posts, and leave the thread open for the exchange of information, and do not try and tell me that people telling a manufacturer that his product is two expencive,or the manufacturer needs to worry about his workers coming back to work after the new year is an exchange of information about the new 50cc Decathlon. There are just way to many threads that are clogged up with peoples BS,and a major shortage of information these days, and i for one am SICK OF IT.Let me ask you guys this (and as i said,my pm box has just been cleaned out,so no need to post to this question) If you have your mind set on a new plane that you want, but it is a bit of a stretch for you,and its HUNDREDS more then others out there (I have felt this feeling every time i purchased a new Krill) but you do it just cause it is a must have for you.Now you have this plane on your build table, you have everything ready to go,and you are also BUSTED IN THE WALLET now
