Liberty Bell Jet Rally

It's hard to believe but in 2 short weeks the 2007 Liberty Bell Jet Rally will be heating the skies of PA. Thanks to the support from many pilots and sponsors, we've got a great event lined up. For early arrivals, we are permitted to set up on Wednesday afternoon. Jet A and oil are not available at DSA. I will check for the closest store that sells K1.

This year there will be NO sideshows. The entire sanction event time will be for jet flying only.

The marketing manager at the Holiday Inn Express told me that there are quite a number of tourists on the waiting list chomping at the bit to get rooms that are in our block. The rooms will be released for non-jet rally reservation on Friday 20 July. I would suggest that you make your reservations as soon as possible to guarantee your stay at the HIE. Remember to tell them that you are with the Liberty Bell Jet Rally in order to get the special rate.

Any questions please contact me at cd@libertybelljetrally.com. As always, Cindy and I are looking forward to having everyone come to SouthCentral PA.

Mike

Mike, Make sure you take lots of photos, and post them here... I myself fancy myself as a jet fan, and regularly attend the jet events out here on the West Coast.

thanks

Toro,

I'm sure that photos will be posted. It would be great to have you come east and join us.

John,

No longer at Deck. We've outgrown their site and have moved to Donegal Springs Airpark, over by Marietta. If you go to www.libertybelljetrally.com and click on the Directions tab you'll get directions and GPS coordinates.

Hope to see you there!

Steve,

Glad to hear that you enjoyed last year's event. This year we have a full 4 days of flying. The runway is identical to Deck but it is aligned east-west and the pit and spectator areas are on nicely mowed grass. No hot black top or dirt to stand on.

Hope to see you there!

Re: Liberty Bell Jet Rally

Blair,

Coming from your location you can plan on an additional 45 minutes. Just take I-78 to I-81 south to I-83 south then follow I-283, headed towards Harrisburg International Airport. At HIA, I-283 terminates and becomes SR283. Take that toward Lancaster and get off at the Rheems exit. From there follow Cloverleaf Rd./Colebrook Rd. apx. 6 miles. You will pass a large Kreider Farms operation, the next road on your right will be Airport Rd. Hang a right and you'll find the airport in apx. 1/2 mile.

John,

From your second post, please make sure that you DO NOT go to Myerstown at Deck Airport. If you do, you'll get a great parking spot

Re: Liberty Bell Jet Rally

Cindy and I would like to thank the 89 registered pilots and their crews and families that attended the 2007 Liberty Bell Jet Rally. It is your attendance, working together, and support that allow this meet to continue. I met with Jay Stout, the owner of the Donegal Springs Airpark after the clean up chores were done. He mentioned that he was impressed with the jets but what impressed him the most was how the "jet guys" took care of his property. I'm happy to say that he has given us permission to return for the 2008 Liberty Bell Jet Rally which will be held 31 July, 01-03 August 2008.

The award winners for this year are:
Best of Show - Martin Lefebvre F-22 with thrust vectoring
Best Scale - Bob Levine Mibo A-10
Best Sport - Tom Puma BVM KingCat
Best Electric - Dave Malchione BVM F-86
JPO Top Gun - Joe Lewis HP Jets F-86

Congratulations to all of the award winners! Well deserved.

Thanks to all of our great sponsors (listed on our website www.libertybelljetrally.com) for their support and encouragement.

Thanks again to all!!

Mike & Cindy

p.s. Lisa loved the Happy Birthday singing from all of us American Idol contestants.
