Good morning Gang!

We're out at our flying field getting things setup for our IMAC contest. What a gorgeous night last night!

I hope this morning fog burns off soon so I can start burning gas and ions all day! ;-)

Thought ya'll might be interested in this, but the past couple weeks, I've been working on getting an SR-71 and the matching D-21 drone painted/restored with the original markings. Unfortunately, it's to far deteriorated for a simple paint job, so working on a partial restore and repaint for it... I don't know who all's been close to an SR-71, but the past two days I've been able to walk on top of it and stuff... pretty awesome airplane!

We had the base photographer out there, so when the story or pics are published, I will pass them along...

Chris... that's cool! Never had the opportunity to be close to the SR-71... amazing creature!

.... The only one that amazes me more, is the B1B Lancer that I got to see fly at the Cleveland,
OH Airshow once.... wings forward, slow speed, and in the back position just under the
sound barrier..... The sound / feeling of it coming by was amazing!

Go to the Air Force Museum at Wright Patterson AF base in Dayton, Ohio. There's an SR-71, a B-1 a B-2 a U-2 and all sorts of other awesome planes and stuff.

Chris that's really incredible. You're so lucky! I was at the Wright Patterson AFB museum once, it was spectacular, loads of stuff I never thought I'd see. It was well worth the RV trip.

Ken, you're right, there is something incredible about the B1B. It almost reminds me of one of the living ships on the show Farscape.

Hmmm... maybe I have saw the SR-71.....
It's been a few years since I've been there.... I just can't recall the Blackbird... hmmm...

I remember the B2 stealth and the U-2 along with the drones, & the myriad of other aircraft.. .....

I know it was creepy standing next to the missiles back in the missile room....

HA! You know.... you are right..... now that you mention it... I definately agree!
I was a farscape junkie in the past.... miss that show...

The SR-71 is the most awesome plane I have ever seen

That's cool. I just happened to stick my hand in the $5 grab bin at wal-mart in the dvd section and the complete season 2 popped out and I was uber excited. Zandor and I are such farscape geeks. We watch an episode or two every night. I love Chiana, we used to joke about how when I had short hair I looked just like that.

I get to see the sr-71 at the Air and space musuem at Dulles a lot. one mean looking bird.
