You'll see it at Joe Nall !.....
Model 12 Mamba it is new idea developed between Flex Innovations team and Kevin Kimball. Notice the new cowling shape, new wheel pants shape, wing tip shape and tail surfaces and generous wing chord. This model is 77 in wing span, 2,070 square in. wing area and 82 in length. 18.5 lbs with DA 70. 5 servos (2 for 4 ailerons, 1 for rudder, 1 for elevator and 1 throttle) Potenza servos 420 oz/in. torque. The idea behind is to reduce weight and cost. During testing all indicated that is working very well. Control is very solid and precise. Assembly of airplane at field it is very fast. 4 bolts and 4 pins and plane it is ready to fly!. Also feature a full length hatch (from rear end of cowling to rear edge of canopy), very handy for installation and access to gas tank. It would be very friendly for smoke tank and if someone wants to go E-power. Performance wise I could not be happier. 3D and precision flight at the highest quality (my best bipe ever!). It is a natural evolution of my years working with bipes. With that weight the DA70 take it with strong authority, a 60cc engine it would be another great choice. There is mount for canister and space for other type of mufflers. Also servo trays for 4 aileron servo, dual elevator servo and pull/pull rudder system it is built to provide all options for pilot taste and CG with different engine choices. Price....we are working on it. We put our best efforts to have the airplane to be shown at Joe Nall. So we are a bit behind as far price, orders, web site and videos..... Soon we will have the info available at www.flexinnovations.com We will be arriving at Joe Nall Tuesday night and we are planning to have Mamba with us and fly it!. Cannot wait for Joe Nall. Thanks. |

Looks very nice. A nice "new" bipe has been a long time coming. Been plugging for a Prometheus for a long time in this size but I don't know how tightly Skip's hold on to the rights is. Good luck with this one QQ and company. Can't wait for video.

How big is the tunnel? I use dual ES pipes so it would need to be 5" wide or so to fit them in.
