+1 On the Iwata Eclipse HP-CS. Been using mine for 3 years without issue. I'm sure it helps that I am very meticulous with cleaning it. And like Gary, I never have to thin my paint.

Thanks John. I just put on a light dusting with a rattle can. I've never noticed any difference weight wise. I'm sure if you really slopped it on it'd be a different story.

I do use createx reducer only for freehand work with white on black and clear red on white. Other than that, I just run straight createx. Im using the same iwata aswell. I do want to get a grex trigger airbrush for the freehand stuff, your finger goes numb after a while with the traditional button trigger haha. Grex makes nice stuff, but I have more experience with the iwata eclipse.

But yeah if you dont coat the plane with clear real heavy and just keep it on the areas that get handled alot, you shouldn't notice any weight difference at all and with very minimal weight gain... Clear on EPP is hard to see anyway and you dont get any gloss out of it so thats why I keep it to a minimum on and around the canopy only...
Hey Gary...I appreciate the info. Good to hear you are doing well. That surprises me you haven't been painting!
I have been trying to get my hands on a Twisted Hobbys (white EPP) foamy and haven't had any luck. Wanted you to paint a bad azz scheme on one. LOL You still flying IMAC these days?

Thanks brother! As always, I couldn't leave it alone, I added a bit of violet to the top and added a light pearlized effect over the whole thing. Will look better with the clear. Thanks again!

Sorry for not being foamy but it is my most recent paint job. It's an Align T-Rex 250 heli canopy. I had to rebuild the canopy first as t was pretty much crushed. No patients for a new one as they were back ordered for a while from the LHS and I was wanting to get going on it... I used auto air paints.. My favorite pint to use next to Tamiya paint. Always wanting to learn and not afraid to try new ideas and techniques... Feedback is always welcome

You guys are to kind.... I'm run a locked dementia unit for people with Alzheimer's disease... Working in the shop occasionally pulling out the airbrush and giving it a go is one of the stress reliefs I find.... Keep posting your paint jobs. It gives me inspiration and challenges me to up my game.

Funny you should mention that, my grandmother lives with us and is going through it.. its tough on all of us, especially with the move out of state. The one thing that puts a smile on her face is keeping up with my airbrush artwork for customers. She cant remember that her brother passed away 20 yrs ago, but she knows exactly how long its been since I started a helicopter canopy or a gs cowling. Shes like, "its been 3 days and I havnt seen any pictures!" Hahaha airbrushing has been more comforting to me recently than it ever has been. Keep doing what you do Flysrc.

Most of these arent foamies, but some of my latest airbrush work! I have another 2 canopies in line as of now. After that, I want to get this white 24" $30 boat hull to do a paint job on very soon!
