Hey Ghost,
With the HV setup, I'm using a Syssa ignition battery eliminator circuit, which also doubles as a kill. It handles the higher voltage fine. A bit annoying that the Rxcel (or whatever you're using) isn't compatible! Those servo arms look great. I'm a big fan of using arms with the secondary pinch bolt. Tim |

Tim,
Ta, I will have to look into other types of HV stuff myself, had no problem with the voltage regs but going to larger aircraft will require a different setup. The servo arms are from Hobby City and are a great arm, CNC, made in different lengths, only thing is the longer ones are drilled and taped ot for 2mm bolts, just drill the out and use larger bolts and nylock nuts. DL Australia are selling a large range of servo arms now. I got some futaba ones the other day for my Sbach they are mpi brand but look like swb.

Hi All,
Fixed the fuel tank, 350ml juice bottle and some made up fittings and a leftover Festo fitting from my jet days, It is about 20ml larger than the orignal tank and now there is no stopper to worry about leaking. Now I just have to wait a bit longer for my back to mend so I can bend over to assemble and start the model. Cheers |

Newbie here,
I have been reading on this thread for a while now. I bought a mx2 then I went to start mounting my engine and was scared to death. I then gave this to a friend that has built a lot of gassers. Boy am I relieved. I bought some smaller standoffs but after reading of some of the weakened firewall problems we decided to just cut back the firewall to fit. Looks great now. This is my First big plane. Mostly foamies, Helis, and .80 fs balsas. I am super excited. I hope to maiden in the next week or two. I was going to go Electric, however I figured since I was spending so much already on this plane might as well have some smoke!! Here are a few pics. I will probably be changing some things out later to better batteries (running nimhs now), And maybe even some better servos later. I will try to get some video of the maiden. I also bought a Gary Ward Aerobatics Decal package from Callie Graphics to make this look even more like the real MX2. |
