Re: NE Region IMAC Area!!!

John,Dave, Guys,

Thank you all for the info. Very informative.

Elie,

It is about time you start flying horizontal and not always vertical.

Elie,

The key is to do it for the fun of it- the competition is icing on the cake. I'd love to have you come down to the CAPI at the end of August. Plan a long weekend and make a mini-vacation out of it. There is lots to see down here in the DC area- the Smithsonian is obvious, including the new Uvdar Hazy out near Dulles.

Get John B to plan a group trip down here. We'll have some fun!

Dave

Dave,

I think we have met and yes I use to do a knife edge snap at the beginning and end of a knife edge loop. I now only do the snap on occassion and try to end the loop as low as possible.

Yes John I have heard that phrase (Tony the knife) before especially in CT. Have you guys been getting much flying in recently. Any flying we do now is a bonus. I Always view November as the last good month of the year. Looking forward to seeing you guys at some of the NE IMAC meets. Sounds like fun and should definitely add some structure to my flying.

You are not mistaken it was me in the back, thank god you didn't hear what I said.
Tony the Knife
I guess I might give it a shot, for me it will be to hang out with you guys and have fun, probably not about winning.
Dave
I promise I will try to make it to the CAPI IMAC to have fun with you guys, I lived in Alexandria VA when I went to graduate school in DC, been to the Smithsonian air space museum many many times and would love to go again, I guess we'll have to organize something With Tank, Tony, Superfly, Bryan, Craig, Bob and many others hopefully.
Now the question is how do we start, need to learn maneuvers names etc...
I guess I am looking for IMAC 101.

Elie, I am just starting this as well and will go with you and the others to MD. If you go onto the IMAC website you can download the '07 maneuvers and start to practice. At the very least, we will have fun.

I should change my screen name to Tony the Knife so when you see it, you will know who it is.

Thanks for guiding me to IMAC 101, we will have fun no matter what.
Tank
Yes I am serious I will try but I hope I can have a break between each maneuver ( a little 3D) then we we continue, you think that is possible?
JeeUm
Sure I was cheering just don't tell him what I said.
Next year is going to be interesting, now who started this IMAC thing?

I'm in for NE IMAC in 2007 along with "Tony The Knife". I guess the big question for us is - do we start in basic and get creamed by some kid with a pattern plane? Or do we go straight into Sportsman?

Re: NE Region IMAC Area!!!

Since we have never competed at this and at least in my case, just starting to practice the routine, I thuoght we would go into Basic until we get a handle on what it is all about.

I would agree with what Tony said. I think I may go and play in IMAC a little next year too.

Bob,

I would start in Basic - the things you'll pick up in the beginning have as much to do with how to compete, what judges are looking for, how to fly the line, etc., as much as how to fly the manuevers well. You can always move up but not down!

One other thing- there are kids creaming us older guys in every class!

Looking forward to seeing you at a contest this next season,

Dave
