Damn good pilot but it looks like pilot error to me. Almost looks like he realized he was too low after the tumble and pulled back in a panic, this caused the second spin into the ground...

Regardless of the cause, Bryan was a great pilot. My family & I thoroughly enjoyed his airshow in Lynchburg earlier this summer. Our prayers are with his family.

Very painful to watch 2.5 min go by before the first fire truck got to the crash area. Slow response in my opinion.

Noticed the exact same thing... but sadly I don't think that would have made a difference...

he crashed about as far away from the fire trucks as you can get out there. The ground is saturated too, so the trucks had to stay on the taxiways to get there. You figure gearing up, starting the truck, opening the doors and driving to the scene could easily take 3 minutes.

Marek Szufa was also killed this year when he crashed in his Christen Eagle.
Watch how long it takes for the first rescue boat to reach the plane.
The first boat there, actually back away for some reason.
If Marek survived the impact, he more then likely drowned.
I could not understand what took rescuers so long to get to the plane.

well as for response of the trucks, I can say this: with us sitting at the station we have 60 seconds from the first point the bell goes off to have the truck on the streets. and 95% of the time we are on scene at or less then 5 minutes. So yea the response seemed some what slow in my opinion as well. Not that it would have mattered due to the force of the impact and the fire that started instantly. however lets not throw rocks too much as we do not know all the details or their protocols. If you stop and think about it the time it takes for them to be dispatched from their staging point to the scene could have been half the response in itself. Then you have the time to bunk out, clear the staging area and respond to the crash site. so you can count on
15 seconds for dispatch
45 to 60 seconds to bunk out and move
and 60 to 75 seconds in response time to get there puts it at 2:30.
Now the only way for that to be faster is the guys to be in the truck with gear already on and self dispatching themselves as they had witnessed the crash. I said before the response SEEMED slow but that is b/c we watch this tragic accident and it hits home to us. Mean while in the real world things happen for situations by a process and the process takes time.
If you were to call 911 and say you had a fire, from the time you thought crap call 911, explained, dispatch activated the alarm relayed the information, the crews go in-route, and a 5 minute response FIGHTING TRAFFIC AND TRAFFIC LIGHTS, would seem like a eternity. just say'n

Not to mention waiting for the call to respond, since they may not have seen the crash...
