So we flew the apprentice at night at Embry Riddle just now. We made up a little game with the soccer goals...Considering a lot of UAVs these days are caught by nets...we tested this out lol! It actually works VERY well with a soccer net. You just have to cut the power to idle and pull slightly up before impact and it will rest on the net like the photo shows. We probably did this 20 times with no damage to the plane!

I swear these past four years at riddle we have done things that have never been done before on this campus lol

Do bad you had to work today there Dougie,
Had a fun day at Daytona flew a lot, not sure where that wind came from.
No FOGS today just some spectators.
I'm glad the Graphics stand out I was worried they may have been to small.
Going to do the Silver Edge on the other side in a hover.
Folks Fly what you want, way too many people think you should be flying what they like.
Not only did I fly my Edge and Slicks today but I also had a ball flying a Seniorita and a quad copter.

Speaking of p-51s I jist got back from seeing Redtails, Good movie just do not try to take it seriously, after the movie was over the whole theater gave an ovation.

Palm Bay sounds good to me who else is going, I've never been there.

If Donnie has other plans and is not going to be at Deland I don't want to go.
Rather go somewhere I know somebody

Come on out Randy! Can't speak for anyone else other than myself being there. I can guarantee that you will be impressed with the flying space. Flat and level out in front, sides, and behind you.

I need a few guys to come out and tell me what they think about the place and if they think it will be good for a throw down.

There is no club there and no dues and no rules.... Like a 3D farm with-out the farm....

I also went to Red Tails last night and did enjoy the movie. The cobras were far-fetched but all in all the movie was good. How did they ever get that many P-51's together----if they are models then the set was done to real standards or the trick photography was amazing.

Saw a big-ol nice jet crash today. Guy flew a really long downwind and lost orientation. He wallowed around a bit before dumping it. The crash started a fire that grew rather large. All of this happening outside of the field boundaries, in a residential neighborhood . After the Fire Department had things under control we were informed the the field is now closed until further notice. This field is actually a City owned park, the City has all rights to do this.
My question is; Do your clubs have any restrictions (turbine, electric, gas or glow) when dry weather elevates a fire hazard? Is flying a turbine powered powered aircraft any extra risk during the dry season?

Gosh I am not even at the Daytona field and I cause trouble....That club really needs to grow up or else it will not have any members left! But hate to say it I will be still flying out there on the weekends :-) Going to fly non stop to! 5 Flight Stations means five pilots should be flying all the time!
