The 85 will still be a great choice for 33% planes.

The 120 definitely opens the door for another power plant option for the 35% class.

When the 85 came out, people said there won't be much market for 100's anymore...that was wrong. All the DA sizes have a market. Notice they haven't discontinued any size of engine.

When the 85 first came out i thought the 100 was done. Glad i was wrong. Its awesome there are going to be more choices forsure The 85 will still do good, as the 120 would be to big for a 33% JMO. Just makes the 35% class so much better now, and a person can stick with DA. Which is what i like

It's a win-win scenario for everyone across the board.

American made, best original design (imo), great service, knowlegable staff and supports the sport in a BIG way.

So in short, Yes it's worth it, now that your decision has been made Start Savin.

Fine Print: Unless you really want to buy a very nice low time, used, pre L DA100 These are very rare and highly desirable, I know where one is available but don't tell anyone or post it here, pm me
(oringinal design denotes not stolen or blatantly copied, mfg'd with cheaper pts and child labor.)

LOL Been savin' for a while now...still have a ways-ta-go!

In fact, I have been REFUSING to look at some 100cc 'class' planes, like the EF110 Yak, AW 300, TOC Yak, etc because they are, IMO, too heavy for a 100cc engine to have the kind of thrust-to-weight I enjoy with my lighter 100cc planes. Now that the 120 is going to be a reality, they, and several other planes are back on the 'wish' list.
Besides that, nearly a full pound lighter than their older DA-100 while putting out nearly 600 more RPM on the same prop, and only a few bucks more expensive make it an obvious choice if you are in the market for a new engine.

This is good info to think about. Thanks for posting!!!
