Just put a hose on it and run it into your motor box into the fuselage. All it is for is to keep pressure equal in carb.

I believe you would run a line from that to a place in the fuse with no turbulant air or pressure changes. Some people even run them to a film canister or pill bottle depending on the plane.

Thanks everyone! DONE! A little more wiring and this thing is ready to Maiden!

I was wondering the same thing with my 170. But my understanding from different threads i have read, guys said i could just leave it with nothing on. So thats what i did. Almost done, just waiting for a throttle extension and spinner. Should get them this week something, cant wait. Might get to maiden it in two weeks. See what the weather does.

All the nipple does is keep direct, transient airflow off the diaphram by pointing the entry hole at a 90 degree angle. You can indeed do nothing with it in most cases. But some cowl intake designs might still play havoc on the ambient pressure around that hole, so it is a good idea to hook a hose to it and run the other end into the fuse somewhere.

What every one else has said but I just left mine alone and the engine is runnin fine though its cold right now so i dont have a hundred flights on it yet.

By the way i had to remove the rudder servos from the tail of the plane and put them in the pull pull tray since i couldnt get it nose heavy enough for IMAC. Funny thing was it only moved the cg 3/8 of an inch but now its a little more nose heavy than i want but i can move the batts back from the firewall for finetuning my cg.

Got to maiden my 260 today. Final weight was 39lbs 10oz. With the DA 170 on RE3s, there was no shortage of power Best plane ive ever flown. I started my CG at 5 inchs back and it was bang on for my style of flying. Cant wait for tommorow

Thanks Stacy, it was a last minute thing, but by the sounds of it ill be back in vernon in two weekends. Did some more flying today, leaning out the motor abit every flight. Motor just keeps getting stronger and stronger every flight.
