if you have giant scale experience then go for it, the one problem I had with my CARF 35% edge was that it weighed 3 lbs more than a similar version made of balsa. my CARF Edge weighed 32lbs and my pilot edge weighed 29 lbs AUW ready to fly. the CARF was way nicer looking and turned heads the pilot doesn't have either
I love composite aircraft that's why my new one is the 330LX from CARF

There is quite a large thread here on that particular model because it was the first CARF to use center hinges on the ailerons instead of the usual "live" hinge. Lots of folks were interested and I guess it fly's okay, but every report I saw was similar to what @airboss/oc told you, 3 lbs heavier than all the other 2.6 size CARF's.

For 40% planes the weight will be similar between composite and wood. The smaller you go the. Ore weight disadvantage the composite planes have. EF is doing 35% planes at 26 pounds. That’s 5 pounds less than the average composite.

I love composite and if I was going 40% then that would be my choice.

Sent the DA-120 in and got it back with a clean bill of health amazingly. Canisters weren’t so lucky but most of the electrics were salvaged and went in other airframes.

Not cheap to send to Tony Clark i tried it, but The engine ran better than before when i recieved it back 👍 its a Shame but its gonna happen to us All at some point 👎

I also trashed My 41% krill extra 330 The other Day. Engine shut down and a dead stik landing in some rough grad. Causing The landing gear to Rip loose and continue to tear The body and trash The cannisters 🙈
I was Lucky its fixable but an A lot of hours before ist done and repainted.

I just picked up this Krill second hand. Finish and looks are absolutely gorgeous. But the engineering of these leaves a lot to be desired. I’m going to be doing a lot to lighten things up and improve the engineering. Very similar to molded sailplanes. Beautiful finish but it’s up to the builder to figure everything else out.

Going to be heavy but that will help as I fly in wind a lot. It’s a 31% but I’m putting a DA100L in it.
