Re: Summer Sizzler Imac, Milford Pa July 28 & 29
Spent the last 2 nights workin on the Yak. Took the carb off and cleaned the reeds. They looked fine actually. Replaced all 3 batteries. Ordered another JR Heavy Duty Switch. And, talked to DA about the ignition. They asked for pictures of our set-up to see if anything is in the wrong place. I'm thinking of moving the RCAT ignition cut off switch from the motor box, back into the cockpit area, away from the ignition module. We also replaced all the fuel lines before Milford. Trent also had a good idea to cut holes in the sides of the fuse under the cowl to allow more cool air to circulate. Done. Hope this all pays off. Right now we're still stumped.

Hey Brian I'm a little skeptical of your kill switch. Anyway you could take it out of the loop?

Re: Summer Sizzler Imac, Milford Pa July 28 & 29
Absolutely Stan. As soon as I get the new JR switch installed with Deans, I'll bypass the kill switch. If that doesn't solve the problem, the last item to bypass will be the Regulator, so we'll use a 6V NiCad for the ignition. Thanks.

Re: Summer Sizzler Imac, Milford Pa July 28 & 29
Stan and Tank, you guys hit the nail on the head. We removed the kill switch and all is well. Flies like the day it maidened last year. What had us stumped was that it ran just fine on the ground which made it hard to pinpoint the problem in the air. On the bright side, we now have new batteries, a new ignition switch, deans on the ignition, a cleaner carb, more cooling holes, new fuel lines, new spark plug caps, carb needles tuned by Albert, and a clean bill of health from DA. Woodstock here we come! Holiday Inn Express will be our "home" for the weekend.

Brian and Scott congratulations on your smooth running motor and way to hang in there. It was just a matter of time before your persistence paid off.

Yep! Congratulations guys on finding the issue. I wish I had spotted that at the contest, I would have ripped that thing out of there right away. See you at woodstock, where Scott WILL fly intermediate! So get practicing!!!!
