Carden extra 300...

Hi Everyone
So after buying this airplane back from Dave last year I have finally finished fixing and upgrading it. Other than still having to bolt on the landing gear and prop here is a quick list of what I did:
Replaced and fixed the bellypan. Filled and fixed all the dings and dents. Repainted the canopy/hatch. Installed all new onboard electronics and batteries along with a new Jeti DC 24 radio. One of the really cool things about this radio is being able to turn the airplane on and off from the transmitter...I've done it at least a dozen times now, lol. Anyway, I'm all set for the 2017 IMAC season!

Look great.
I thought it looked just like the one you did the build thread of a couple of years ago.

Then I read the post carefully and it says you "bought it back".
Had it had a crash?

Thanks guys, I meant to post this in the northwest competition thread but oh well it's here now.
Hey Mike, I'm really looking forward to next year, I really missed IMAC for the last couple of years. First contest is only 4 months away!
The airplane was never crashed but had a fuel leak and melted the foam belly pan. I managed to work a deal with Dave E to buy it back. I kind of regretted selling it in the first place so I was very happy to get it back.

Looks great Henry!
Hopefully you can get to a Alberta event or 2 in 2017.
It would be nice to see you out here.

Hi Scott Thanks! My buddy Darren and I have already talked about going to at least one of the contests out there. So yes!

I really wish I could convince Dennis to cut me a 40% 330S and a standard 42% 300 kit again. Those are airplanes I really wish I had still. I'm not a fan of the Pro from an aesthetics standpoint.

Looks as good as new Henry!

Anyone know if Dennis has plans to produce more than just 1 kit?

I have no answer for that. I think this kit was one of the last he made with the 43% fuse and the thin wings, similar to the Pro I guess. It's a fantastic combination in my opinion. The only crappy part is having to wait for better weather now.

I actually called and talked to Dennis last year about this same question and he added me to the email list. He was talking if he got enough interest, he would consider doing a run for prepaid kits. Not sure where he is at now with it.

Hi Henry:
Is that the Carden that Dave Easley got from Jim Spurlock?
IF so is Dave E still competing in IMAC?
I flew with Dave in the NW. Finals 2 years ago in Tri Cities Wa.
Hope to see you this summer at an Alberta contest like Scott was saying.
Also You should join our Canadian invasion to Idaho for the silver springs contest.
Last 2 years 5 or 6 of us have attended Idaho and Wa. contests with great success.

Hi
No, Dave bought the plane from me, I built it back in 2011/12, I flew it for a year then sold it to Dave. I didn't want to sell it but it was looked like IMAC was over for me so there was no point in keeping it. Anyway Dave flew it for a couple of years then after a fuel leak destroyed the bellypan I worked out a deal to buy it back.
Dave still flies and competes, in fact he bought the other Carden I built in 2010. He likes my planes, lol.
Anyway, I'm definitely looking forward to competing again next year and will be attending some contests for sure, Idaho is a long haul for me but we'll see!

I put my name on the list if Dennis ever cuts 330S kits again. He said I'm number 3. Oh well.
