Oh yea. In a worse case scenario they most likely wouldn't pay, probably drop him/her and he/she most likely wouldn't be able to get insurance anywhere. In a best case scenario his rates will skyrocket.

If the pilot just happened to "hear" his engine sputter, he can land anywhere in an "emergency" to check it out.

Not an RC field but a short landing for sure. There are many STOL aircraft now including the Carbon Cubs, Zenith 701/750, Just Aircraft Super STOL. They are designed around landing at fields typically the size of an RC field. I've always thought you were legal as long as it is private property and you have permission. Good stuff!
