Ideas?

A flat file or sandpaper glued to a flat surface will fix it in about 5 minutes. I usually do this to any engine/muffler to ensure a good seal anyway. High temp copper rtv and no gasket and I never have leaky mufflers.

I give the flat bastard treatment to all my mufflers especially the ones from China

File it down and ditch the gaskets. Use RTV and you will be just fine. Sometimes small adjustments are part of the hobby. If it is something you can't live with, send the mufflers back and get new ones.

+1 for sticky back sandpaper method.

I still can't believe how this engine yanked around Supa Tim's plane at Wenatchee!! That thing was a little beast!

To start the VVRC is about 20oz lighter and $90 less. The RCGF is wider too so it won't fit in as many planes.

For those 1/4 32 spark plugs, are the little coil springs that go into the spark plug caps necessary? Is anyone using them?

As I understand it the NGK CM-6 version now has an angled plug. The overall with is down to 8-1/2" from the cap to the cap. Does anyone have a photo of this? I am hoping this will fit in a EF 78.

Yes, it had the small plug version in it before Matt sold it to Joe, without the engine. Now Joe bought the large plug version, and he is not quite finished. I'm just pissed this engine was not available before I sold my EF 78 Extra to Daren, because from what I have seen with Matt's, it runs great.

Wow! Thanks for the photos. It sure seems like the regular plug version would be a close fit in the EF 78. I might have to trim the cowl just enough to keep the plug wire from rubbing, but they surely would not stick out much.

How well did the yak perform with the VVRC 40cc? The 26% Pilot-RC Yak 54 and the VVRC 40cc twin is a combination I'm considering or the 78" EF Extra 300.

The engine pulled the Yak around great, but honestly the EF Extra is a much better plane.
