Fancy Foam Mini Raptor
I wanted something new for the indoor season that started last Saturday around here. I'm not a great pilot so I made a decision to stay away from the depron planes for now. Due to my many crashes I got very fond of EPP foamies. I prefer the minis for flying indoor. My son already has a FF Depron Raptor. It flies so good that when I saw that FF came out with the EPP Mini Raptor, I just had to get one. Got it from my son for fathers day. It's been sitting on the shelf since then. Decided to put it together about a week ago. I still needed a motor for it. All my stuff was geared towards 32in versions. Orderd the motor and some props on line from Fancy Foam on Tuesday. It was here this afternoon on Thursday. I finished it up this evening. now I have to wait for two days to fly it. Maybe I'll sneak in a flight tomorrow if the wind dies down.
Not much to building one of these. Here are some pictures. |

Got the maiden in. The plane flies good but I couldn't hover it. The motor I have is under powered. It would hold a hover when the battery was fully charged but it wouldn't pull out.
I need to get the Dualsky motor like I have on the Mini Crack Yack. Everyone seems to be out of them. Any one know where they are in stock? |

Here's a great motor for the price, $18.60. I have three of them and most of the guys in my club fly them also. None of use have had any issues with them. They will pull a Crack Yak, Crack Yak Lite or a McFoamie as high as you want!

The motor for the Mini Raptor will be here tomorrow. Should have it ready for tomorrow nights club meeting. We can fly befor and after the meeting. Nice set up.
![]() While I'm waiting for the motor I copied My friends pizza box plane. The club wants to have indoor combat with these planes. Vince an Rick tried it out last weekend and we have plenty of room for carnage. LOL. I scratch built mine off of Ricks Pizza Shack one. I'm using the blue one for combat and the Pizza Hut for a backup. The blue one is ready to go and the Pizza Hut will be ready today. Should be fun. |

I should add that you can get the Pizza Box planes from Light RC. http://www.lightrc.com/product/mini-pbf/ They are totally not worth scratch building unless your like me and have the stuff laying around. I did order a kit and a hardware package from them. I'll use it for back up. You never know.

I got the maiden in with the Mini Raptor last night. I got some video. The plane is very nice however my flying sucks. I'll post a vid later when I get a chance to put it on you tube.
Meanwhile have a good laugh. We did.
