Cessna 421C Giant Scale
Starting my Giant Cessna 421C. I know how I would do it but wondering how some of you would glue these pieces together as sen here. I guess I would take 1/64 plywood strip and Hysol or Epoxy over the seem?? Maybe 1 inch overlap on both sides?? What do you guys think??
Thanks |

I lay out a piece of plan protector on the table and join the pieces with gorilla glue and sand the glue of smooth after it dries
I’m not going to give advice on laminating the joints unless I pull out my plans and look at them to see if a laminate could cause issues later in the build Are you building the 21 or 27% model |

By looking at the 3rd pic of the plans it looks like there are a lot of vertical formers that attach to those 3 pieces after they are glued together using the process as mentioned earlier by Boothg-3
I'm Only throwing out an opinion but I wouldn't add any doublers to those side pieces until after most of the vertical formers were glued on then I would look at basswood triangle stock to lock the vertical formers in place and at the same time strengthen the three side pieces, only at that time would I look at more doublers as you were mentioning. Just my 2 cents. RSnow |
