Walbro wb27 fuel prob

I have what looks like a low run zdz 160 and I'm having trouble getting the plugs wet. I have replaced the flappers/diaphragm and screen. I have also shot carb cleaner thru ports. After all this the carb will load up with fuel, even pour out the velocity stack, but doesn't get fuel to cylinders- plugs are dry. I have opened H L screws to 3-4 out on still dry plugs after 20 flips hand flip.

What am I missing here?

Have the factory stops been removed from the throttle? If so this allows the throttle plate to be rotated so that the low speed fuel nozzles are on the wrong side of the throttle plate. Will never draw fuel into the engine but will draw into the carb. This is common on smaller carbs like the WJ71, I assume the same is the case for WB27.

Yes I saw the rotary plate moving with the crank/prop spin.
I'm not getting the throttle stop points tho. I did see that the throttle arm can rotate either way closed so I have it working so the plate closes flush with carb throat. The other direction it leaves a gap and i wouldn't think that would be correct orientation.
I am mostly setting throttle wide open choke closed to test. Should I put throttle at a lower level?
Also I wonder about the metering lever. Maybe too high and not lifting needle?

We normally start out engines at idle as shown on page 3 of the manual. One of the idle progression holes is under the throttle plate that supplies fuel to crankcase, if you spin the plate around, all of the holes are now on top of the throttle plate so no fuel gets into the engine. You have fuel coming out of the carb, it's not getting into the engine, I don't expect the level adjustment is your current problem.

Are you using the the 5-5-1 staring method?
5 flips ignition off, full throttle, choke on.
5 flips , ignition off, full throttle, choke off.
1 flip, ignition on, idle , normally runs?

Well turns out the intake block hole was full of sealant and the eng block gasket was inverted completely blocking the vacuum hole from pulling fuel into cylinders. After getting this corrected. I got one pop, and the zdz ignition completely died. No fire from either side. I ordered a new DA style and will convert it to cm6 plugs, and then resume.

Thanks for the 5.5.1 , I'll try that soon I hope.

Is it possible that the ZDZ ignition shut down after 60 seconds of inactivity? Cycling on and off will reset and it will fire again.

Fix the carb issues, and try it again. Seems like you found the root cause of it not running.

normaly you shoud unplug - plug ignition (resset), then starts working.
At least for other brands is so.

This kind of off the ops line
But the comments about the ignition intrigue me
I’ve never heard of this but could be very useful info in the future if true
Do DA and RC xl units do this??

do you have 2S compatible ignition? if so, then goes to sleep mode and u shud resset it to start working. Also newer 3W , all MVVS ignition do that. If u have 4,8V ignition then problem is somewere else.
