Nice! I might be buying a Dalton 300ML about a year from now. Going to go with a DA 170 on the RE3 pipes.

Re: Planes for 2009?

Yeah that would be nice - I am compensating for the lack of a DA-170 by running 30/12 2 blade instead of a 3 blade.

42% Dalton 300 with DA 170 is a "sex machine!"

Hey Bill, I noticed the Airwild Sukhoi on your list and it made me think again about the sale that QQ is having for the 120" YAK ARF for $1499. I don't know what the deal is but that is a sweet plane at that price. It's normally $1999

In the NE

Re: Planes for 2009?

Brian,

Yea, I saw that but I've have a couple of his planes and though they really do fly well, the couple of places I fly at are fairly rough and one thing about QQ's planes is they are somewhat fragile and do not take to a fair amount of pounding that you can get from a rough runway

The Sukhoi is not set in stone yet but I've always been a fan of the Sukhoi, more so than the Yak

Brian, you building the 300? Are you keeping the 260 as backup?

Re: Planes for 2009?

the airwild sukhoi goes together well and is really a sturdy bird. i have mine assembled but have not flown her yet. the snow came too quickly here in iowa. so far, my opinion is that this plane is a steal at 1399! well constructed, well thought out and really looks quite good in personl. the video of jeff szueber flying it on the airwild site is quite enticing as well!

i have mine set up with a 3W 157CS and reg muffs. i have all 7955's and a smartfly turbo reg/PE. i have 4 equalizers in her and run a JR 2.4 9ch rx. smart fly optic kill, 3 fromeco li-ons and i used all of the provided hardware. she weighs in at 40 lbs 9 oz. that seemed good enough for me. i guess a guy could take a little weight out by putting in a123's and no power system. the 157 is obviously a tad heavier than the 170 but it should do just fine.

anyway, i just wanted to voice my "so far" satisfaction with this bird to all those on this thread thinking about one....

The new pipes from MTW. Recommended for the DA170. A little shorter than the Grieves, but stronger and fatter.
