It is the EOS 0610i DUO. Apparently the DUO2 was not out yet. The only thing that I see to indicate what firmware version it has, is the addendum sheet that is included.
Mine just says v1.7 and has the date of September 08 at the top.
The Hyperion site says that the DUO is now replaced with the DUO2.

610 duo is very easy to upgrade firmware. You can buy HP-TI-PRGUSB at allerc.com. RCAccessories may carry them as well, but I did not see it on their web site.

If you have 1.12 you are probably using the Hyperion Duo II. It is just the updated version of the Duo with discharge capability.

Re: Hyperion EOS-0610i DUO Question

Yes...My 3.0 Yak is using A123s going into Kodiac switches..and the duo charges those just fine. For my QQ Python, I am using my own A123s removed from a Dewalt 32V pack. Each battery will have a EC3 connector going to the receiver and a JR connector going to and external Earsnt JR charge jack. You can do one of two things. You can charge the battery through the E3C jack at a higher amperage, or you can go through the external charge jack and charge at 4 amps. The DUO will do both. Or...if you want balance option, you can run 3 wires to the JR charge jack and EC3 connector to main outputs.

Re: Hyperion EOS-0610i DUO Question

Are you guys actually charging a 2s2p Lithium ion pack with the Duo? If so, are you using the Li-Ion or Li-Poly setting? Is anybody doing it with a charger that is less than a v1.7 firmware?

The DUO2 is available right now. Your firmware version shows up when you first power up the charger.

Right, like I said in my post, the DUO2 was not out in October. It has since replaced the DUO like I have.

The start up screen DOES say v1.7. So, Is anybody charging a 2s2p Li-Ion pack with a DUO equiped with v1.7 firmware? If not, then I will have to update.

I'm just trying to narrow down why this new charger will not charge my 2s2p packs. Surely I can't be the first to charge this type of pack with a DUO with this firmware.

Re: Hyperion EOS-0610i DUO Question

Okay Guys, first of all, thanks for all of your input.

I have upgraded the firmware to v1.9. That is the newest version that is available for the original DUO. Anything higher than that is only for the DUO2.

Again, the batteries are 5600 7.4 volt Li-Ions 2s2p packs. The charger will now charge these packs, but only on the Li-Poly setting. On the Li-Ion setting, it charges for 1 minute and then goes to "end".
Should I just charge them on the Li-Poly setting, even though Hyperion says to not do that? I read the info on lithium voltage in the early part of this thread. So, could the charger be kicking off because the Li-Ions ARE 7.4, but the setting is for 7.2, and the charger thinks it is a Li-Poly?

Are you guys charging Li-Ion 2s2p packs on the Li-Ion setting?
Should I just send it back to Hyperion?

Thanks again for your help
