wow just saw the banner ad from dl-usa, they stated 910grams, i was thinking 120 size airframe and up, then i remembered to add the muffler and ignition........add 200 grams, this motor would be awesome for the peak-model 25% airframes, whats left of them anyway.

my guess on the price is $340

Pilot rc states that their dle 30 combo with the CF yak 26% is 699. The arf itself is 419 so the engine costs 280$??

I'd say so in a combo. Should be no more than $270 by itself though. In fact I'd go as far as to say it will sell for that at sometime when they become available.

There will be more airplanes in this size range. I know that for a fact.... Should exceed the performance of the Peak model offerings as well.

Yeah, I wish Pilot RC would build an Edge. An MX-2 would be cool too.

Speaking of Pilot RC, I would love to know the prop clearance of their new Yak compared to the Peak 25% Yak. An 18" prop is fine on that plane but this engine may spin something bigger! I guess I'll send Tony an e-mail.


So the specs. say that it weighs 38.45 ounces and that it makes 3.7 HP @ 8500 rpm. It also rates the pulling power at 18.74 pounds. This means that it will be a considerably less expensive engine than my OS 1.60 FX at $279, thats before you add in the $60 Bisson pitts and the $30 Perry pump, at about the same weight and probably better low end power!! Best of all it's gas so no more costly, slimy glow fuel!! Finally a gas engine that makes sense for planes this size. I bet they sell many, many engines.
