Re: Just For Newbee's to Gassers

That's quite true but, as you stated, if you need to get to anything under it it becomes a hassle. I found this much easier on this particular build. Been flying it a couple years with no problems.

Re: Just For Newbee's to Gassers

You have inspired me to make some mods on my CAP.....I have a top on my motor box and all ECI gear inside as well as the battery. I have room on the outside to mount as you have. I have a top on my box which I will leave in place after I take all the goodies out. Not that there is any "daily maintence" on the ECI stuff.......but when it needs attention it certainly should be a lot handier to get to. I am also going to add the Opti-kill switch and MPI Rx switch.

Al I would also show them how to seal the hinges and pinning the firewall. Many new guy have never heard about it. Just take the photos off my build thread. As always you provide great info.

Re: Just For Newbee's to Gassers

Thanks Stang. I used the firewall photos but have no intention of turning this into a "How to Build a Plane" thread. LOL I'll get enough questions just on this part. LOL I had most of this information on another thread in a reply I did for a guy a couple of months ago. When I looked at that thread today I noticed it had 2,545 views so I figure somebody must want it. LOL

Ryobi?? Not big on old engines but that would be my guess. Ralph Cunningham could tell you for sure. Hell, he could probably tell you who owned it first. LOL That's definitely a Walbro WT 76A carb though. LOL

Chickhawk61, You need to find Ralph of Rcign. He will know what that engine is. Maybe a Walker Sachs 3.2 ? Older Brison? Machined case and kinda looks like a Mahle cyl. 40-50cc. Just a guess. Let us know when you find out.
Al, good idea and write-up.
Bryce
