Is it allowed to land between sequences to change the battery?

Justin, it is not normally allowed to land for anything other than a safety concern, like to check for aircraft damage, it would be up to the CD to allow it if so. normally when you land for a safety concern you go to the back of the line to finish your sequence, this helps keep the contest running on schedule with out delays.

I personally would not want to split my sequences, for example, sportsman, 12-15 pilots you are first, then go to the back of the line to finish your sequences, then it's your turn again after 1-2 hours of waiting and the judges sitting there scoring, you might get good scores at first and not at the last, because of fatigue. I would like the judges full attention on my flying for only one time, if that amkes sense.

Yes, just like you can land between sequences if you have engine issues. You don't have to take off immediately, you can drop to the end get it sorted out and finish your second sequence before the round is over. Once the round is over you can't make up any missed sequences though. i.e. fly four sequences in the afternoon if you missed the round in the morning.

Thanks for the info guys. I might just have to get bigger batteries as I don't think I can fly 2 sequences in a 7.5 minute flight.

He is supposed to be putting the same setup in a 40+% Aerotech (i think) Edge. He built the ultra light one. Cant wait to see it fly!
