Been flying RC aerobatics for some time now and decided to get back into full scale recently. About to fly out to Denver to pick up my "new" 1956 Super Chipmunk! I'm the grinning idiot in the rear cockpit after the test flight. I'll post some more stuff about my flight home to Alabama soon.

Absolutely beautiful airplane!

Thanks so much. I was very fortunate to find this nice of one since they very rare. This one especially so because this "Super Chipmunk" has a bigger than stock engine but unmodified wings and control surfaces (sort of a "semi super"). According to the previous owner, who just bought a fully Supered Chipmunk, mine flies a lot more pleasantly. Just enough of what a 66 year old needs to have fun!

A Chipmunk fan here as well (from afar!). So pretty it was built equipped with a 6cyl. Ranger. An interesting engine in it's own right. But this is a Lycoming conversion? Which one? Solo from front or rear? Cruise speed?
