Mine tracks very well, but the focus isn’t that great. I’d say it’s only in focus about 60% of the time. I have lots of video, haven’t had time to upload lately. If they would calm down the zooming it would be much better. That’s when it looses focus.

Autofocus is usually working better with lenses, which have larger aperture ( f/2 to f/2.8).
I am wondering if you have 65x version or 25x version?
Have you tested your Soloshot 3 with electric or gas plane?
Plane size and speed?

Well after waiting for over 18 months for mine.....I am super disappointed.

It does not bind with the rx unit well, it does not center the object and focus is out the window.

I have updated everything and honestly I'm just fed up. I consider it a total loss.

I was so excited about this product and waited patiently as every month or two they would send us an email telling us that we would be rewarded for our patience with a robotic camera like no other and sadly that was just a way to keep us from asking for refunds.

They took the full amount of my money for 18months and sent me something that hardly works.

I have been meaning to send them an email but honestly have not had time and felt so bad about the results, I just decided to consider this money as a loss and a lesson learnt not to buy something before its release.

Just to make it clear, these results are mine and the company has not been contacted. I am sure they will stand behind their product but I am just letting you know my results as that was what was asked.

I dont blame you, Ive been watching these for a year or two now, if they can ever get it perfected Id buy one in a heartbeat. But maybe its just not possible.

Used it on..
- My kinda slower float plane, electric
- tri-copter, electric
- 105" 120cc EF Slick 580, gas, fast and slow
- and a couple others, I can't remember which.

Here's some links but to be fair, most of these videos were NOT shot with the latest firmware, which I'm told was supposed to be addressing RC folks issues of focus and tracking. I just haven't had the time to fly lately and test it some more with the latest firmware.

I've got other videos with motorcycles and stuff which I'm actually fairly pleased with. I just wish the RC stuff would work a little better.

Still disappointed

It's been a good while with no new posts. I had high hopes for this system. Is it dead as far as our r/c needs? I need the ability for it to keep up with the last plane on the last video and if it hasn't improved I'll move on.

Me too, sure wish it would work better.

Not good enough for me for RC planes. And they don’t seem to be making improvements. Having said that, I have got good video of planes but it’s sporadic. You can’t count on 100% of your flight being captured. More like 50%.

Ive given up on the dream of a robot cameraman, soloshot might be good for horseback riding or something, but not for RC :/

My Soloshot3 was a disappointment (Did not work as advertised) so I returned it within 10 days of receiving it. The bad part is, the Co. received the unit back almost 2 Months ago and still NO REFUND. I had to get the Credit Card involved and looks like a 3 month process in getting a refund, if at all!! BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
This Co. is NOT on the UP & UP!!!

Any update lasdog?
