Looks like a vibration issue or bad harmonics. I believe that is why Da has a support on the oppisite side of their Pitts style mufflers. IMHO I would figure out how to support the other end some how. I for One think We will be seeing more of the same. To bad, a rather cheap muffler for the price of the engine

OS 35 GT
Hi guys, it seem you liked very much this OS, still liking?
I will star a scale project to take part at FAI competitions and I am strongly considering to use this engine. I don't know anybody close to me (I am in Brazil) who owns this engine, so your feed back is very important for me. Thank you and have good flights and nice landings! |

I've just done about 20-25 flights on my GT 33, then today, it sounded a lot louder on landing, found my muffler looks exactly like the one in your picture. Did you resolve this? Too bad its aluminium, bit hard to repair. |

OS 33 GT
Thank you guys for the feed backs
Well I decided to go with the OS, the engine works with plenty of power, sound of the original muffler seems "muffled" enough". There is sometimes some litle metal sound that comes from the muffler and there is some trend to loose the screws - I solved this with a special 3M Joint Maker that resists high Temperature and is perfect for this purpose. The main comment I have about the engine, is what everybody knows, and must be careful, is that is starts also clockwise!!!!!! I want to give you also the fresh information that I am just returning from our F4C Nationals and I am very happy : 1st place Stuka, 2nd place Zero; 3rd Place S. Decathon . Bellow a picture. Regardless of some troubles having to weld the muffler, I wish you all the best with your flights. |

My friend has one of these, and had the original muffler break several times.
Ended up finding one bolt loose on a standoff, after a couple times. What it did drive was the use of a stock DLE30 muffler. MAN what a difference. It picked up an extra 300rpm on the prop he was swinging, and yes... a bit louder, but it made it a much nicer engine for the 78" Extra it's fitted to. Hangs with my eme 35 now (My EME still seems to make a bit more power, but is MUCH louder, too) |

Aluminum isn't that hard to repair; I've mig welded my mufflers several times.
