Eliminate throttle and choke linkage

We made this up for internal use but it works so well that we have decided to offer it on a limited basis to gage the level of interest. It provides mounting for a throttle and a choke servo. The throttle servo directly drives the throttle arm eliminating any linkage slop or binding problems. The Delrin servo mounts are sized and drilled for the JR 34** series mini servo line which is available from regular types for $30.00 to digital for around $75.00. The entire package, less the servos, weighs two ounces including the Delrin velocity stack. The servos weigh 1.1 ounces each. If you don’t want to use a choke servo just don’t bolt it on.

We have been flying it for several months with good results. The engine always comes back to the same idle because there is no linkage slop or binding. The velocity stack does a nice job of smoothing out the mid range and enhances the throttle response which is useful in maintaining a 3D hover. The mount plate turns the carburetor 90 degrees so the servos line up front to back, meaning there is no interference with mufflers or exhaust headers.

If you are interested send us a PM. It is currently available for use with the DA 85, 100, and 120 which all use the Walbro WJ-71 carburetor. We can easily make them for the 150 and 170 if sufficient demand is there. There is enough difference in the DA 100 and the DA 100L that slightly different length mounting bolts have to be supplied. We will send everything you will need to bolt it together and onto your engine except the linkage for the choke. There are so many ways to do that we feel most of you will prefer to make up your own. We have some mounting plates without provisions for the choke servo or velocity stack that were made to test the concept and they are available as well.

Looks nice but do the servos clear the exhaust on a twin?

The carb is rotated 90 degrees by the way the mount plate is designed so the servos align front to rear. I don't think this would cause any interference with the twins but those that have them would know better. Here is a picture of the set up installed.

Nice. Will you be making them for the DA 50 and DA 60 too?

Thanks Vern, That makes sense now. I appreciate your out-of-the-box thinking.
I just noticed that the needles are more accessible as well.

If your system is compatible with the DLE-111, I am willing to purchase the hardware and the velocity stack kit and get them installed and tested out.
I have my new AW extra 300 100cc still opened up and yet to maiden!

PM me with the costs and we can go from there

very cool ideal!

Awesome idea, plus you could get the lighter servos and them all the way up front if needed.
