Wing desing for Marchetti SF-260
Im looking to design a giant scale Marchetti SF 260. Probably around 110’’ span with 100+cc for power plant. My scratch building experience been only for Imac and 3D plane. As this build is more scale oriented, im a bit confused on the airfoil I should use. Was looking for a symmetrical airfoil as naca 6 digit with 10 - 12% on root and 8-9% on tips. Also what determine wing incidence? Can I keep to 0deg as Imac planes? Is adding wash out on wing tip good Idea?
I’m looking for sport scale fligth, no need for high speed, with good low speed characteristics for landing on grass field Could you please give me some advise? Thanks Jeff |

I have the CARF Models SF 260. It is quite a slick design with a noticeably thinner wing, stab and rudder profile then my comparable size aerobats (ie CARF 2,6 Yak and Extra 260) - I fly my on a DA 100 and it is a beautiful combination despite being heavier then your typical aerobat. It is surprisingly great flight envelope and turn of speed for a 100cc power plant - which I suspect has a lot to do with the airfoils choosen. If you can replicate the CARF wing performance you will be doing well.
