Alkaline - THANK YOU - this cockpit divider ring is from the Sky Gate cockpit kit- I had it left over from a kit I had. YES the lighter cockpit allowed me to put more components under the pilot tubs - I still need to program the RX a bit more - I plan on taking her to Georgia jets this fall - please keep posting as much as you can about your Hawk

Sorry I have been away from this great thread....
I have been working on things for my father...
I have missed out on what seems to be alot..
Alkaline I am very glad that nothing to catastrophic happend
while you flew your plane for the first time..
if possible.. would you post some pics of the reinforcements
that you made to the hatch !!!
Any chance we gonna get to see a video soon ??

So we have had a tropical storm here and its been basically raining on and for the last 2 weeks and looks like the forecast is dogey the next week. As soon as it clears up I will try again.

I will get pics of the hatch. Its heavier now but it will not buckle I can tell you. Also instead of having 1 pin hatch on the top I'm going with 2 hatches on the sides, similar to my f-16, this should add even more strength.

I haven't heard of too many hatch failures, but looking at the hatch I can tell you on a 300N plane it is very likely to buckle and fly off, I would think even on a 200N it would be enough.
