Servo glitch

Not going to start a brand war
Was getting. Plane checked out this evening /
itís been sitting for about 6 > 7 months
No problems last year

When I turned on the switch
1 servo started going full travel 1 way then full travel the other way

Good quality / Name brand / analog servo
Full batteries / Full transmitter battery
Tried it on 3 different channels / same thing
Tried different servos on that channel / no problem
Tried a different Receiver same thing

Finally just swapped it for a new one

Any body else ever have this happen ??

Sounds like the Pot or the Connection from the pot has gone bad. Have never seen first hand this type of issue,But heard about it a few times..

Did it keep going Past full travel or stop and just kept going from endpoint to endpoint? ie didn't bind at the end of travel.

It was moving full travel of the servo mechanically
Way past my set end points / my radio end points didnít exist
Good thing I had done a fairly good job on the mechanical setup
Because it was putting a lot of stress on the control horn
This was on an old 33% Laser on the Elevator
And I have heavy duty horns on it

Had the same issue on a plane. One of the pins in the servo connecter had pushed back so was getting a intermittent connection.

I had some older Futaba S131s, and when deflected, they would bounce. Then when coming back to center, they would bounce. Ended up cleaning the entire servo, and the servo worked fine. I suspected that the pot was dirty.

Thanks for the replies
This one was weird for me
I’ve had servos that (Twitched) (Bounced) (Ground)(worked slow)And just plain Quit
If this would have happened on one of my newer birds with HS /HT /HV servos
Something would have broke
Not very often when a servos setup to be able to rotate to its lock without stalling
