Looks great!!
Can i ask what the all up weight is?
And did it take any lead up front to balance?
I just ordered mine last week.

I have never posted any finished at the field pics of the Ultimate I built and painted for a friend.

Turned out to be a great flying airplane and the owner is really enjoying it.

MK2 Ultimate

Hi guys,

been reading this thread for some time, and again and again, as my new toy just arrived.

Mine is a MK2 Hybrid, as the fuselage is still mostly built like the last MK1's but with the new wings, and lower upper wing.

The one thing that I am having a hard time with, is how to get the fairings on the landing gear?

How did you guys do that, especially towards the fuselage, as i dont want it to be cut through by a piece of fairing......

I Really love my old color scheme, but the new ones also look spectacular....

If the fairings are the same as the first version they are open in the back. I slid each one on and trimmed the top to match the fuselage line then put some edge protection on the top and bottom, put double sided tape on the leg, slid the skirt over and matched the top to the fuse. I put a piece of vinyl tape on the back to seal it up.

Is the da120 on cans/pipes more than enough power for unlimited sequences?

Hi Dale, thanks, was thinking along those lines, however, the fairings seem to be a bit wider then the thickness of th gear. Does the double sided tape work well for you? The principle is the same on the MK2, guess they are actually the same.....

Erwin,
The inside of the skirts was a little wider than the outside of the leg but the double faced tape on both sides of the leg was enough to account for it. I never had a problem with them staying on but I did have to replace the trailing edge tape once.

Any special double sided tape used?

Erwin,
I can't remember which 3M double-sided it was but it was either the white (with green/white backing) or the grey (with red backing). Either should work as nothing should be able to get to it.
You still asking questions on this? Make it so & go fly! Ha!

I tried double sided "Gorilla" tape and it's super strong.
One side came out kind of wavy so I un-did it and re-did it using pure silicone. A thick bead on each side of each leg works really well and conforms to the shape of the cover better than the tape did.
