Shoot sorry to hear that. It is very devastating not to have a decent place to enjoy our hobby

I don't know about CT, but in MA and NH we have lots of places to fly. However, most places have noise restrictions so the so called stock "mufflers" are taboo.

The 92" laser does not come pre hinged and like you I purchased Robarts ahead of time however after seeing that the OE ones were every bit as good, I used those instead.

Hi everyone, I just ordered this kit. What J&A mufflers should I order that fit without having to cut into the cowl other than where the exhaust stacks come thru. Any suggestions? Thank in advanced. John

I’m using the J&A compact mufflers that are made for a 3DHS Slick. They fit without cut outs.
BTW. This Laser flies great! I love it.

J&A compacts for me. Here are a few pictures of my finished plane. I’ve got a few flights on it now. So far looks like it’ going to be a good one.

I am picking mine up at Joe Nall next week. Leo scheme. Should be fun. Probably be a while before I get it all together though. Not sure what servos I am going to go with yet. I do have the DA120 sitting on the shelf though.

I have not visited this thread in a LONG time. I'll come back here soon to log some frustrating times, non of which are airframe related in any way. I can not seem to be able to get this bird in the air, confidently.

I used a bamboo stick to get the rudder servo extension from the left side of the fuse to the right side. Then I finally installed the rudder servo. I went with the pull pull orientation that Jeff Williams showed in the manual.

In addition to color coding the extension, I added a length of heat shrink tubing on both ends of each extension right at the location where the extensions enter and exit the servo extension tube for a little better wear resistance. Perhaps overkill but I figure it can't hurt.

Where do you get those clear servo connections?

I got them from PowerBox America's as well as from Chief Aircraft, which is a dealer for PowerBox products.

I am currently using a PowerBox Mercury as my servo power distribution system. It's all I will trust any more. I have had many flights on this 104" Laser without a single glitch. I tried a Spektrum AR12310T and had major servo bouncing issues. I tried another brand of distribution and my system kept shutting down. Luckily shutting down on the ground. I spent a huge amount of time resolving the issues preventing me from getting this plane into the air. I tried to get solutions to the problems resolved with the manufactures and all I kept getting is that it's not our equipment, it's the fault of the other equipment you have connected.

Hmm, very interesting. The other equipment are MKS 777A+ servos and DA ignition. Those were the culprits I guess.

In the end, the PowerBox Mercury doesnt really seam to care about the MKS 777A+ servos nor does it care about a DA ignition.

Obviously my last post was sarcastic when I mentioned the ignition and servos. They are perfectly fine.
