I picked up a 20 year old Hirobo AH-1S Tow Cobra from an estate sale for a couple hundred bucks (they used to sell for something like 2600 bux new!) that is in pretty good shape and already converted to electric. It's got a fairly low head speed so it sounds pretty cool

I spent last week rebuilding the head with new links, changed a few bearings and got her up and flying again. It's 700 size, with 10S electric. My next few steps
1. Convert to flybarless so it has a 2 blade scale head.
2. Fill the holes drilled from the original nitro install, switches, and fill lines and do a re-paint.
3. Add some nav lights.
4. See if I can break the gun turret loose and add a servo that swings it back and forth with the rudder input or on a sequencer.

Anyways, I hope y'all like the pics of something different.

Anyone from south FL going to Huckoween? I'm looking to see if someone could shuttle a 60" Edge back with them. I can pick it up in November when I'm down in Naples.

Preliminary NTSB update on B17G crash. Engines 1,2,&3 we're zero time (SMOH). Engine #4 had 838 hours smoh.
Engine 4 was feathered, engine 3 had one of 3 blades feathered. Pilot entered downwind at about 300 feet and turns to runway was into dead engine.

I have watched several WW2 trainer, bomber, fighter typed take off in recent years and it seems that "babying" engines were more important than first reaching a safe altitude from which to have options to deal with any partial or full emergencies. It is sad because we want to see these planes of history continue.

And you k ow that there was no money's spared on those planes , they belong to the Collins Foundation. I always go visit them at American Aero in NSB
