To have a properly trimmed airplane, you need to fly the plane for many flights figuring out the way the plane rolls, how it pitches during throttle, how it pitches on downlines... many mnay things. (see the P.G. chart)

I suck at trimming a plane. I can get them flying pretty straight, but I'm always amazed at what a guy who can really trim a plane can do.

When you see guys flying completely fluid lines and even throwing down the mean 3D, and they don't seem to be working too hard, their plane is probably properly trimmed.

I mean KE with 1 finger, it's amazing.

Read Pete's Article.
Use Gareth's chart!

I can't fly anything with one finger. I use forefinger and thumb ! Never could do just the thumb thing.

Anyway I thank ya too Gareth. Saved to my Documents waiting for my 100cc project to get finished ! I will actually use Peter's recommendations THIS time thanks to you. I usually just "wing it" on trim remembering what I can from wherever I got it and Peters article was read so I reckon that is where I got some of it at least.

This makes it easier for guys (like me) with fewer brain cells left !

Gareth,

I know this threads is old but I'd like your permission to use the chart version in IMAC Lite. I already have the written version in there but the table would work well

I would be editing it so that the person using it can check a box next to whatever is happening which keeps your theme going

Missing step in the trim chart.

Step one is missing.

Step one: Set aside time for a minimum of 47 flights at 15 minutes each.

I envy you guys that can get that kind of flying in. I did something wrong...

It's the first time I've read so much information in one article, The great thing is that when you start out thinking you have a great flying model then aplly these exercises, your plane is going to go from great to fantastic

My problem is I get to the field and I forget what to do and what I'm supposed to be looking for.

There is now a "Trim App" on the Google marketplace that has all the tests on a smart phone app.
