For those that may want to come I am posting the address to the field. Next Saturday is the Flagler Rams Fall Fun fly. Here is the address. We are at

Well today is the day for Flagler Fun Fly. I am the CD of the event.

All of the members have been worried because of the doom and gloom forecast...

So the forecast says at this exact hour of 6 am the wind should be ENE at 10 but outside the roads are dry and the wind is dead calm.. Guess the weather man missed already.

I have no doubt that the wind wont be calm today, we rarely get calm where the field is located.

Hour by hour forecast says three hours of 30% rain, one hour of 50% rain followed buy a handful of hours of 40%. Rain accumulation might reach .07 (that is 7/100) of an inch for the day.

We will still be having the event... along with the hamburgers, hotdogs, pulled pork soda and water and if the attendance is low then we will have food to cook for tomorrow because we will be flying Sunday where rain accumulation might reach .01 (that reads 1/100) of an inch for the day.

I made up a batch of 7 layer pea salad with shredded lettuce, thin sliced onion, sliced boiled eggs, shredded cheese, peas and of course bacon... with home made dressing... I have one Tupperware on reserve for Sunday.

I also made a batch of WW salsa.. I tried it on my hot dog at dinner last night....It was a hit for me!!

Come on out, bring your AMA to fly.

Pilots please see me. I will have the clip board for required pilot sign in and I will also have the raffle tickets, one ticket per normal flight to win some free stuff..Raffle between the hours of one thirty and two pm.

We already have a couple of trailers on the top... For space we are asking the cars to park below and pilots with trailers are encouraged to come on up on top.

Well today was great. I felt one drop of rain, everyone looked up to figure where it was coming from but it was gone. The wind did not gust to anything over 15 but was more like a steady 10-12 with crosswind. Lots of guys flew, we gave away some goodies at the raffle and for tomorrow, we will be back to do it again. We reserved one of the pulled pork roasts for tomorrow and still have hamburgers and hot dogs to cook plus fixings. We managed to come up with more raffle items so tomorrow will be more flying, each pilot can earn a raffle ticket by flying a flight and food at 12 and the raffle just after 1pm. Come on out and fly with us!

Good times were definitely had , was a little windy , Foid was Damn Good , and i rather enjoyed the day ..Good Job WW

The county commissioners were in attendance on Saturday. They really liked what they saw. We did a noon time dedication and pulled all of the veterans out of the crowd and honored them with the National Anthem and accolades.

As it turns out... we will not loose our field come Feb 1 when the new runway opens at the full scale field... in fact, that new runway is already open at the Flagler full scale airport... We will continue to work in safety's interest when the full scale are nearby and that, with our low operating altitude and pilot spotting will keep us in good with the control tower, and will keep us flying.

The commissioners reassured us that the money earmarked for our project will remain in escrow until they get caught up from the hurricane season and then they will do all that we ask them to to make the field a premier flying spot.

In a related development, it seems that a club member of whom wishes to win the presidency in next weeks bi annual election (he calls for Change and Hope) may well have been doing (or having his intermediaries doing) some skull duggery or fear mongering to win votes with rumors of loosing the field on Feb 1 and not having the new one opening on time... Ain't that some cheeet? We have affectionately named him Billary...The flying event was a great time to compare notes for the club members...

To recap... we will stay where we are until the county can build us a new facility in the future...whether it is in two months or 10..

That's good news for you. Hopefully Billary will go away quiet, unlike the other one.
