Howerver for me it helps me to visualize what I need to do. Call sheets are specific to each individual and how things are named (example Flick vs Snap Roll or Hammerhead vs Stall Turn) It works for me better to think of immelman rather than 1/2 loop. |

Also I just looked at the AMA Competition Regulations and in the Glossary it lists an Immelmann as
"Common name given to a family 7 figure consisting of a half loop up" With a strict interpretation of this you should enter horizontal and end inverted as no roll elements are listed. If you google it you get the traditional definition of a half loop with a half roll on exit. |

Correct and as I said for basic they should tell you when to push/pull/roll and help you wind correct. This way you don't get knocked points for line lengths and your plane will always be in a safe place (for the spin they will make sure you are high enough from the last manuver.)

Assuming you are flying schedule B you would pull to the vertical off your right shoulder and make the figure N centered.

Not to be argumentative, but calling an Immelman gives a perfect "visualization" in your head prior to have the elements of that maneuver called. Would you call a Split S a half loop as well? This could get very confusing if your caller called both Immelman's and Split S's half loops. But we all have the option of asking our callers to call in the manner we choose... |

Very cool!! I didn't even realize we had IMAC in Japan. Please post pictures and let us know how it goes.
Found this on the IMAC site. http://www.mini-iac.com/Articles/Art...-comp-for-2017 |

I could not remember if there were any errors in that call sheet I posted. I did not look at it again to verify it was correct. A member here sent me a PM and informed me of a mistake on the crossbox humpty. The roll is a 3/4 roll not a 3 of 4 point roll.
I have corrected both Left to Right and Right to Left and have attached them here. As for the sportsman sequence the figure N should be centered (No criteria that says it must but for best ACS it should be) The pull to vertical (Schedule B) should be done just to the right of you so your 45 is centered on the judges (As someone else mentioned). If you are flying schedule c it should be done to your left so the 45 downline is centered on judges. Also Japan3d enjoy your first contest! |

Call Sheets
One of the things we have stressed in our Basic Only events, is NOT to use a custom made call
sheet. Rationale: In most cases, our competitors must ask someone to call for them. In many cases it can be a different person for each round. At one time we had one qualified person (Kent Porter) write the call sheet at the beginning of the year for each class. This would enable all competitors to use a common call sheet at every event throughout the year and not have to translate one caller from another. If nothing else, we asked the new pilots in the Basic Class to learn the correct names of the Aresti maneuvers. I am fortune enough to have not only a very good caller but one that is very pretty as well. If we could all be as fortunate. |

I like the idea of starting someone out "fresh". The only issue with that is IMAC pilots are not new pilots (even basic) and they may already have skewed definitions for maneuvers like I do. If someone posts an "official call sheet" it should use all correct terms.
As for the issue of having different people calling for you, I am aware of someone who flies in the upper classes and has a piece of notebook paper. He could hand it to a 10 year old and tell him "Read until you see a comma, when I say ok read until you see the next comma" Does not matter who calls and it will always be the exact same way as he has every word he wants the caller to say planned out. I tried to do this on my call sheets but whoever calls for me would need to be a bit more experienced to know when to pause for me, although I could add in breaks or commas pretty easily. |
