Clever. I like their new canopy quick release. The wing system looks nice too. The stab doesn’t look any better than the normal 2 bolts per side.

Yeah i agree the stab only save a little bit of time, Using a small cordless drill driver makes easy work on unscrewing stabs etc.

But good on them for trying to make things eaer for us

The biggest advantage I can see is that all the fasteners are held captive, so no need to make sure you don't lose screws. Doesn't really look that much easier or quicker in my opinion.

Regards,

Astro

Beats losing screws. I do envision punctured coating though from the screwdriver slipping of the screw as its being slid.

Its under the elevator, wont be seen.

So correct me if I am wrong, but what good is showing assembly with elapsed time if you don't have any servos to connect? Seems almost like fake news to me.

I thought the same thing, Would be good to see what time is needed to attach fully. for 30-50cc This adds some time,
Not such and issue with 100cc and up, as there is just the Servo leads.

Not impressed with the disassembly time. I’ve done it in less than one second with several planes

QR canopy would come in really handy though.

I really do appreciate Pilot trying to make the assembly quicker. Skywing has a new magnetic quick attach system that looks promising. Most of my planes now use the powerbox connectors that mate together when the wings slide on, which means I never have to hook/unhook the servo leads.

It looks good, my only concern is how it will hold up long term. I really like Pilots quick release canopy on my 87" Pitts and my 92" Extra 330LX. Pilot has been very busy lately releasing new airframes, updating existing ones and adding new features. I am glad to see that. I purchased my first Pilot this winter (87" Pitts Bulldog) and I was impressed with it enough to purchase their 92" Extra 330 LX last month. With all the ARF manufactures/vendors that we have lost the last few years it's great to see Pilot making this kind of investment in our hobby.
