Me too. Have to wait to get dimensions. Then have to consider weight as well.

Yeah I was also wondering how it would CG as well, if the cowl is 10.2" the FG90R3 is 9.8", good possibility it will fit.

It is built around a DLE-61 which weighs in at 3.86 pounds and makes around 6HP.

The 60R3 comes in at 4.6 pounds and makes 4.6 HP

The 90R3 comes in at almost 8 pounds.

For price, power and weight the DLE looks hard to beat. I would still be tempted to put a DA-70 twin if it fit. It's 10.6 inches across. Weighs 3.5 pounds, add mufflers and it's right around the DLE weight, but smooth as silk in the running department.

I have an EME 70 twin with starter waiting for a job but my dream was to have a Waco for the Moki 150. I guess we will have to wait and see just how much engine weight the model can handle comfortably... I think the Moki is about 8-10 pounds.

I got the EME60 w/ele. start. I just transferred the template to the firewall of my BH extreme decathlon. I think I'm going wait for more info, would like to really put the Saito 60r3 on it. I really enjoy following the "builds", it provides great info for me ahead of my builds.

I came across some of the Phoenix kits going cheap so bought a few whilst they were available and at hand.

I have the Preceptor, the 120mm Hawk and the 50cc Mustang, the preceptor is on the build table now.

I find the kits to be of good quality so far, not perfect but very, very good for the price. It is on par with my blackhorse spitfire much to the point where I question if they are from the same factory as the build and hardware is pretty much identical.

Of course if you expect EF quality on a scale model this size at that price you will prob be disappointed.

I have a 100" Stinson Reliant weighing 20lbs with a Saito FG60R3 and it has plenty of power. I also have a FW-190 weighing 27lbs with the FG84R3 and it has plenty of power. I read about ppl flying the FW-190 with the FG60 and they say it's enough. For me it probably wouldn't be as I like to have a little extra power. The Waco (according to specs) weighs between 27-30lbs, so the FG60 might be enough to fly scale but in my opinion might not be enough power to get you out of trouble. I would probably opt for the FG90.

The DLE mid range burble is starting to be as irritating as nails on a chalkboard.

The DLE-55RA in my Xtreme Decathlon runs great. I would have no hesitation in using the 61.

This seems to be around the size and weight of the H9 Beast. Makes me wonder if a DA-120 will fit.

If you click the link to Tower in the original post the still shown from the video clearly shows a server mount in the upper wing. However, the manual PDF make no reference to the upper wing servos. Perhaps the model in the video is a prototype and the upper wing servos hatches were removed for production.

It will be interesting to see if the upper wing servo mounts are there when deliveries start next month.

We have one of these beauties on back order, too. It looks like the ship date has been pushed back to early November, but that's only a few weeks away and plenty of time to get the parts picked out and have it ready for spring. Our intention to to fly it in some Fun Scale events next season where documentation is not needed. At first glance there are only a few deviations such as flat struts, incorrect aileron pushrod placement and a goofy tailwheel, but for the most part the outline looks correct and am anxious to see if lighting can be added without too much hassle... after all they gave us those cool landing light locations.

After reading through the manual it looks like they did a lot of things right. I'm impressed with the simplified strut and wing attachment, access to the radio equipment via hatches, and a competitive price point. I've assembled and flown a few Phoenix models and (aside from the usual cheap ARF hardware) their build quality and covering are right on par with the major manufacturers.

I'm a bit surprised after reading some of the comments about needing a larger engine such as a DA-120 or Moki 150. I'm currently flying a Pilot-1 Waco YKS (which is a much bigger plane at 100" top wing) on a O.S. FR7-420 radial and it's more than enough and flies great just above half throttle. In my opinion the Evolution 7-77 would also be a great choice.

The Pilot-1 Waco also uses two aileron servos set up the same way as this, powering the lower two ailerons slaved to the top wing. It's worked out just fine for five seasons at 68 flights and counting.

Anyway, excited to see how everyone's builds go and will be sure and post some pics of our progress once it arrives and we start making some headway. Cheers!
