Great day at Muncie, but a bit hot. All pilots completed their registration, pilots meeting and the parade. I watched pilots practice on both flying sites from morning to night and the quality of the flying was fantastic, I cannot wait to see the opening day of competition tomorrow morning. There is a nice variety of airplanes, motors, equipment and flying styles.

For anyone who is interested, the people in IMAC have done something that is really great!

They are posting the scores live at this link:

http://www.mini-iac.org/Worlds-News

meaning, tomorrow (even now) you or anyone can click on the class and see the results of each class and even of each pilot.

Very very cool!!

Was able to spend all too few hours today at the Worlds, what a great event! Pilots from all over the world able to connect and communicate because of a common passion even though they might not share a common language. Truly a remarkable gathering, wish we could have spent more time there.

I was able to meet up with many old friends and meet for the first time those who became friends simply though Flying Giants. Spent much time the Sabini family and team Italia, it was a pleasure and an honor meet them. Jonathan Sabini is the very talented, fine young man (12 yrs) for who Ron, Ralph and I built the Italian schemed Kam Aero that we documented here on Flying Giants earlier this year. Was able to see him fly one Known round today, he flew it very impressively and the aircraft presented quite well.

Shortly after Jonathan's flight we headed over to the Advanced, Unlimited line to say hi and see a few friends. It was a great time, but then the clouds, thunder and rains came so quickly as they often do in Muncie. Greg Brausa came with me, Ron Wlosinski had intended on coming as well, but became somewhat ill last night. In any case Greg and I decided to start our drive back as it looked like it was going to rain for a while. I understand, the weather cleared up about 4 pm and they were able to complete the last set of Knowns.

Attached below are some pictures Jonathan, his Dad, John and myself along with a few set up and fly pictures.

Tom

I realize the weather is terrible in Muncie.
It sure would be nice to get even a hint of a update as to what is happening.

Also in the heavy rain some decided to do Freestyle. I think the only one to brave it was the Italian cup champ Sacha.
