It flies!!
I even got two flights on it before the IMAC contest started and got it very close to perfectly trimmed in those flights. This airplane is going to be an excellent competitor for IMAC. I won't gush about it endlessly, but basically it tracks on rails and has very minimal coupling (and probably zero with the right CG, mine is tailheavy right now so it needs a slight down elevator mix). The airplane presents very well and held its own against 40%ers just fine in the 20+mph winds we had this weekend. I really like the way the airplane presents snaps, and I'm very picky about my snaps. It also stops snaps on a dime... I don't think I really missed a single snap in the contest this weekend, including negative snaps from upright and positive snaps from inverted in our unknown. It feels just right in that regard. Power is very good for IMAC as well. Just playing with it, I didn't have any issue with losing inertia in continuous upline snaps. The 120 with a Vess Stealth 28B pulls it very well. I did put one freestyle flight on it after the contest today and it felt great. It does it all and very well. I need to order some 2" servo arms for the tail surfaces so I can get full throw, though I didn't feel limited at all with the about 40 deg elevator throw and 30 deg rudder throw I'm getting right now. Once I rework those linkages for high throw, I'll really wring it out and try to get some video of it up. Definitely a winner! RJ |

RJ,
What's the "Stealth" 28B? I have the 28B on my 110" Yak/120 and it's a great performer, but loud. |

What does the CF 28B give me that I don't get with the wood 28B? More RPM? Would it be quieter?
