A quick reminder that the Weavers breakfast fly is this weekend and they will be selling off Mark Ewerts estate of planes, kits, and quads.. There is all kinds of stuff and everything is going from kits, toolboxes to trailer.. There is a nice older carf extra with a da100 ready to fly that would be a good starter plane for somebody. Auction is Saturday morning..http://www.weaversairfield.com/mark-...tate-sale.html Mark had a bit of everything so come eat breakfast, fly, and buy!

I remember Mark from when he would attend our annual International Helicopter Association fun flies at the Cascade airport. He always had some of the top notch and best looking scale helicopters. I wish I lived closer to attend the breakfast and auction.

These are the last two trailer loads we took out of Marks. Lots and building supplies. The other trailers we will bring down tomorrow and start staging. Weathers good and Gary’s mowing. Bring a plane and Your tax refund!! Also his airplane trailer is for sale it’s a 10-12 foot wells cargo as I recall.

What about this motor:
https://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/...d.php?t=250233
$1100 with headers, cans, prop and spinner.

MTW front dumps ok? DA web site recommends KS3086 rear dump.
26X10 Mez CF 3blade prop ok on this motor? DA web site recommends 26x12 3 blade

Problem is, it's in Michigan.

Jeff,

The engine is fine and the headers as well. The cans, not so much. The KS 3086 cans help the engine breathe better. Not sure about the prop, when I bought (but haven’t used My DA120) the recommended 3 blade prop was 27X11TH.

Hmmm... that makes two votes (the other on FB) for the KS 3086 cans. In that case this deal isn't looking as good. Prop and spinner might be alright... I don't know... no experience with bigger motors and 3 blade props.

Jeff like Dan said they will allow the engine to run better . Seems that Mejzlik don't make a 27thx11 three blade prop anymore .

I had a SDYak54 with a DA 120 on MTX-110 front dumps and it ran a Mej. 26X12 3 blade. I took it off and ran a two blade at Eastern competitions.

The 26X12 does an awesome job with the DA-120 as long as you are in moderate wind (0-10mph, mid 500' Altitude and temps in the 60*-80*s.

Anything higher on all three switch to a two blade. I liked the three blade because it made the sequence the same speed. Downlines were slow and easy.

Switching props also changes two factors the centerline and the front end weight so keep that in mind as you set up the plane and engine for IMAC.

I think I added 1/2 degree to the right and a Pepsi can size shim on the upper mount for more down for the 3 blade.

Also I am not sure if DA has corrected the Carb issue since 10 years ago. but to make that engine purr hot glue a 1/16" of carbon or plex-glass in front carb. On the vacuum plate, hot glue four corners on the screw heads of the plate. Be careful not to block the vacuum hole in the center/ off to the side. The goal is to create constant atmospheric pressure at that vacuum pick up.

Your quailty of photos have to be upgrade as they are fuzzy . Like Dan said the carb issue has been fixed, with a new billeted red plate .
